Fever defintion is 100.4 or greater.Fever alone is not dangerous and is just a sign your child’s immune system is fighting off an infection. How your child appears is more important indicator than fever alone.
Use With Caution - The American Academy of Pediatrics strongly recommends that over-the-counter cough and cold medications not be given to children younger than 2 years because of the potential side effects. Also, several studies show that cold medication does not provide any benefit for children younger than 6 years. Humidifier / normal saline drops are the main recommendations for supportive care.
